I could avoid damage by obtaining the receipt again from the store, but think what if I couldn't get it?
Also, if you got financially damaged by this Apple's policy just drop me an e-mail, we may can start class action. I personally think that the policy is very selfish for the company and damaging many loyal users. I had very unpleasant phone conversion with apple customer relations representative treating me like a thief.
